Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM)

Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) is a non-invasive, painless test that records blood pressure continuously over a 24-hour period. It provides an accurate assessment of the patient’s blood pressure profile, helps diagnose possible hypertension or other cardiovascular conditions, and evaluates the effectiveness of antihypertensive medications.

For the test, the patient is provided with a portable device worn for a full day. It automatically measures blood pressure every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes at night. The patient may also note any relevant details that could help interpret the results (activities, symptoms, discomfort or stress factors).
After 24 hours, the patient returns to the pharmacy to have the device removed and to receive the results, which can include a specialist’s tele-report within 24 hours, if requested.

The service costs €30 for the tracing only, or €45 for the tracing plus the specialist’s report.

An appointment is required and can be booked online or by phone.

The ABPM report is interpreted remotely by specialist cardiologists from LifeCare Italia.
